Kawthaung, formerly known as Victoria Point, is the southern most town in Myanmar. It is one of the entry ports into Myanmar and a is separated from Thailand by the broad estuary of the Pakchan River. Kawthaung retains the charming character of a prosperous fishing village. Bayint Naung Point (Victoria Point)
Bayint Naung Point is situated at the southern most part of Myanmar. During the British colonial period, this point was named after Queen Victoria. Later, in the 1990s, it was renamed to BayintNaung Point. It has one of the best views of the Kawthaung Area and is just a seven minute walk form downtown.


Ngar Thone Lone Hill 555(Triple Five Hill)
Ngar Thone Lone Hill is centrally located in Kawthaung and has a height of 555 ft above the sea level. Visitors can enjoy the bresthtaking views of the entire city at the viewpoint on the top of this hill.


Pyi Taw Aye Pagoda
You can see the golden chedi, rising on a hilltop just north of the centre, from some way off. It isn’t Burma’s most spectacular temple but it is worth a wander, though the view across town, the Kraburi River and the Thai mountains in the distance is the undisputed highlight.
Pa Lone Tone Tone Beach
Pa Lone Tone Tone beach is the closet beach to Kawthaung. It is located 7 miles from Kawthaung. This is a great location for a relaxing family beach holiday whilst observing local fisherman’s life. Pa Lone Tone Tone bridge is the longest wooden bridge in Tanintharyi Division and it connects Pa Lone Tone Tone island with the mainland.


Maliwan Waterfall and Hot Spring.
Maliwan Waterfall is 25 miles away from Kawthaung. Maliwan Hot Springs are located five miles form the waterfall. The natural hot water s channeled from the hot spr9ing to a bathing unit through a piping system. the scenery around this area is breath-taking.
Salon Villages( Sea-gypsy villages)
The Salon people, who are called Sea Gypsy or Moken, live on small boats around the Myeik Archipelag. They are known for their ability to dive underwater without mordern apparatuses. They made their living by diving for pears and looking for sea products.

Lampi Island (National Park)
Lampi island is the most famous island in the Myeik Archipelago. It is one off the largest and has been designated as a National Park. The island boasts various kinds of flora and fauna. There are also magnificent mangrove situated on the island.


Cook Comb Island
Situated at the south west of Kawthaung and a four hour journey by boat. Many sharks and lobsters can be found in abundance here. This is an ideal location for snorkeling when the tide recedes.
Island 115
Island 115 is located 39miles(63km) from Kawthaung. This island is home to many lizrds, smakes and bird’s nest cave. It is great location for snorkeling and kayaking.


Naung Wee Island or Naung Oo Phee Island
Naung Wee or Naung Oo Phoo island is north of island 115. A group of Sea Gypsies settle here to avoid south west and noth east monsoon winds. A river in the norhtern part of Naung Wee is a great spot for bird watcher and wild life explorers.
Bo Cho island
Bo Cho island is situated at the south of Lampi island and has a major settlement of Salon people during the monsoon season. This island also boasts a mile long sandbank and scenic views overlooking the village at the pagoda located on the hill.



Western Rocky
Western rocky is one of the most famous sites in Myanmar for scuba diving. Its is situated at the west of Kawthaung. Divers can observe beautiful coral reefs and many kinds of marine ilfe such as whales, sharks, sting rays and dolphins.

Horseshoe Island one of the hidden beautiful natural islands in Myanmar, is located in Myanmar’s Mergui Archipelago. It is a small island near Zadetkyu and Cock’s comb island which is also known as Emerald Heart island. It’s situated at the end of Tanintharyi and Thailand that makes a good place for both countries to enjoy and relax the peacefulness of nature.
Horseshoe island also known as Myin Khwar island has a unique characteristic. It’s a breathtaking place where the water is clear that can see through and the surface is sparkling with the sun shine.
